Service Description

GI Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a ground based martial arts focused on positional control and submission holds wearing a kimono. The sport gained popularity through the UFC, when Royce Gracie demonstrated that BJJ was the most dominant martial art in one-on-one combat at UFC 1. It is not only an effective form of self defence, but is a great way to improve your mental and physical health. Practicing BJJ offers numerous benefits. Physically, it provides a full-body workout that enhances strength, flexibility, and cardio fitness. The techniques and drills help improve coordination and balance, while the dynamic movements promote agility. Mentally, BJJ teaches discipline, patience, and problem-solving skills. The focus required during training helps reduce stress and anxiety, providing a healthy escape from daily pressures. BJJ places and emphasis on leverage, grips, technique, and positional dominance, enabling smaller individuals to defeat larger opponents. In BJJ, the most effective martial artist is often the one with the most refined technique. Wearing the gi allows practitioners to utilise a vast array of unique attacks and control methods not available in no-gi training.
