Service Description

No-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a ground based martial arts focused on positional control and submission holds without wearing the kimono. The sport gained popularity through the UFC, when Royce Gracie demonstrated that BJJ was the most dominant martial art in one-on-one combat at UFC 1. It is not only an effective form of self defence, but is a great way to improve your mental and physical health. Practicing BJJ offers numerous benefits. Physically, it provides a full-body workout that enhances strength, flexibility, and cardio fitness. The techniques and drills help improve coordination and balance, while the dynamic movements promote agility. Mentally, BJJ teaches discipline, patience, and problem-solving skills. The focus required during training helps reduce stress and anxiety, providing a healthy escape from daily pressures. Unlike Gi BJJ which places and emphasis on gripping the kimono, In No-gi we can only grip our opponent. This tends to make No-gi BJJ quicker and more aligned towards MMA grappling. However they are similar in that they both focus on technique, and positional dominance, enabling smaller individuals to defeat larger opponents. In BJJ, the most effective martial artist is often the one with the most refined technique.
